Hello,

My 05 Type R needs a couple xenon lamps. They are OEM on this car.
I would love recommendation from you guys.
I think 6000k is the best choice. It needs to be purchasable from Europe only. Have no ideia how much the OEM costs, but i assume in the aftermarket we can get better and cheaper lamps.

Probably a common D2S bulb. If you want government approved lamps Philips or Osram.

 

Phillips 85122+ I believe are the ones I used to get when doing HID retrofits.

They’re basically 4500k bulbs that are already “burned in” and are the equivalent of 5000k.

you’ll get the best light output.

 

Do you have any idea on what is the stock D2S for this car?
Is it 4500k or 6000k?

I prefer the 6k because the light is light bit brighter.

 

All OEM D2S bulbs are 4500k. They “burn in” to about 5000k and stay there, until they’re towards end of life, then they’ll start to go more towards 6000k. The higher the kelvin temp, the less bright the light actually is.

 

I have run the 6K bulbs in the past and have always liked them. Personally I like the way they look, and have provided more than enough visibility for my usage.
