Horn won't stop honking, relay switch clicking, & car won't start
I have a weird electrical issue. Not the only one, but the one I had before was minor. When clicking the window to have it auto raise without holding the switch sometimes it will reverse direction, and go back down after it has only moved up a few inches, so I have to hold the switch in for raising. Could this be connected? Dunno.
The problem that is the main issue though just came out of nowhere. Well not entirely. I have had this weird clicking happen once or twice before, but after turning the car off, and letting it sit a bit it would subside, and the car would work fine again. Not so much this time.
I went to start it, and it would not stop. Now I should say that my horn, airbags, and cruise control were not working prior. I had a bad block spring, which I replaced. This fixed everything, except the horn.
This was a couple weeks ago. Today I went to start the car, and the clicking kicked in. Then the door locked after some period of time, and the clicking stopped. When I next went to open to the not with the fob, but with the key, turning it started the clicking again, so I pulled out the only fuse not in the fusebox which I thought was the battery fuse, but wasn't, plugged it back in, and went back into the car, and put the key in the ignition, and turned it one turn, which started the clicking again, and also started my horn honking, which shocked me. Anyhow, now the horn is working, but the door locking, or I think it might be the unlocking, causes the horn to start honking without stop. Even worse the car won't start.
After a time the clicking subsided, and it would start, but turning the key will start it honking and the relay clicking again, and then it won't start.
I did pull the fuses for the door lock, and this had no effect, though putting the one 10 amp fuse back in started it clicking, and honking again, so there's some connection to the door lock, and the horn going off the way it is. Not sure why this would stop the car from starting.
Upon removing the horn fuse the honking of course stops, but the TCS system also stops working, so that's not a solution, as the car won't start with that fuse out, and also it won't start either when it is clicking, and even after the clicking stops. Time seems to fix this, but only until the key is turned again. I pulled out and reinserted the one fuse that is outside the fuse box, well to the left of it under it's own removable cap, reinserted it, and the car started. not sure if there's a connection, or if enough time had simply passed. Also not sure why the horn is now working. Yes, I replaced the clock spring, but it wasn't working before this. Maybe yanking that large fuse that is outside the box reset the electrical system.
Again, a couple times in the past this clicking has occurred, but quickly went away. It is only recently that the window has been acting funny, and only just today that the door lock seems to have a connection to the horn going wonky, and the relay switch clicking ceaselessly. It's likely the horn relay, which on the 2003 is integrated into the fuse box, so if that is the problem doesn't that mean I'd have to replace the whole thing? How much would a fuse box cost?
And why would the car not start, and then after a time start, and then start clicking and honking again when the key for the door lock is turn manually, or the car key is turned, but the car isn't even started?
It's a mystery to me, though it could be a simple solution. That said given the fact that the horn wasn't working, and now it won't stop clicking and honking without pulling the fuse, which doesn't stop the clicking from the relay box, I really don't know what the issue could be. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also, the horn is "honking." Meaning it's going off in time with the loud clicking that's coming from the relay box which is located right next to the fuse box. Is this the alarm system going off? Could the alarm be faulty, and if so could that be what makes the car not start?
