Default Idle smoother in neutral than drive

My idle is smooth as is should be in neutral but in drive at a stop with the brake pedal pressed it is less smooth. What’s up with that?

Brake booster has a minuscule leak that's messing with vacuum, maybe?

It’s like the A cord vs E cord on a guitar. I could try again. It’s no problem at all

When in neutral there is no load on the engine (or torque converter). When the transmission is in drive at a stop, the torque converter is putting load on the engine.

simple enough I get it. So nothing is really wrong that’s just the way it is?

my transmission is recently rebuilt idk can’t be more than 5k on it and the the torque converter is a referb.

It it doesn’t seem bad to be I was just curious.

I have tracked it at it at willow springs and it does have 19 passes on the strip with the new trans and no issues

Yeah, I think it's just the way it is. I had mount inserts in my old EF sedan and when it was automatic it would rattle the dash hard while idling in drive with the brakes on. Just the nature of the beast!
