Default Possible turbine issue

Hey guys so recently bought a turbo (t04e) and manifold combo (used). The exhaust manifold has a waste gate on it but the turbine housing seems to have previously had 1 welded on it, its now shut closed and I'm wondering if it might cause any issues?

From what I understand, is that if the gate on the housing once worked well, then it should be fine now that it's permantly closed because technically its simulating a closed waste gate, right?

You'll be fine. I would use some kind of locking fastener, or I would occasionally check to make sure those nuts/bolts holding the block-off flange in place are tight.

It looks like it's got jb weld around the edges but when I take my csr to get the wastegate and intercooler piping done I'll get the fabricator to weld it shut and possibly cut the pipe shorter just to reduce the wasted space.

Thanks for the reply
