Stalls going into gear
Not out of the woods yet. This is a 1999 cr-v EX all wheel all time drive. I have googled and utubed this issue quite much but not getting much relevant info. Car starts fine (starter whines upon disengagement), idles iffy. I have the FITV off the throttle body now and will be thoroughly cleaning it and attempting to diagnose the idle situation. IACV is new aftermarket. No codes. Will try adjusting the FITV. I was having the surging idle but did not check by cleaning the FITV and checking for any air bypassing the valve. I have to reinstall it and try blocking off the throttle body intake holes to see if the idle changes, etc. In my searches I saw where there could be clogged AT cooler lines or clogged cooler affecting the bogging down going into gear. Need to check that but don't quite know how apart from disconnecting the cooler and applying pressure to see if the flow is good. Bad fluid??
Could be the EGR valve or a vacuum leak. Any vacuum leak testing procedures pertinent to this model?
Could be the the used ECU/PCM is not all there? Is there any simplistic ECU diagnosis concerning the stalling going into gear issue?
It was driving kinda ok on very short trials near my home except for a serious front end groaning noise coming around a sharp curve. Any ideas on that issue? CV joints; loose suspension?
The recent issue was no AC compressor clutch engagement.I spent beaucoup time diagnosing that. I knew that the compressor clutch relay was not energizing since there apparently was no relay pull in ground present. Anyway, replaced the ECU/PCM and now get AC clutch engagement. So the issue remains stalling going into R and D. Weather has been crummy so waiting to reinstall the FITV and diagnose further.
