this is pissing me off...... I'm trying to get to the power window modulator on my 95 del sol . i can finally see it but i can't get to it.
how do i get this metal radio bracket off without removing my entire upper dashboard? this pic is taken from the front of the shifter
looking forward. the metal bracket holds the radio.
i looked at it but i don't see a way and the carpet is connected on each side so i'd have to cut it but i would if i thought I could access the module.
I think i have to remove the entire dashboard. When i finally get to that little pos, i'm going to see if i can relocate it for easier access. this is a huge PITA.
This image is related to the PCM removal for an Accord. However, it shows how there usually are just clips that hold the carpet near the console where the carpet can be peeled away.
I'll try again tomorrow but this is for an accord. all the del sol folks to which I have spoken said that they do it via the center console. no one however explained that i have to remove the dash...
yes, i just did that and i got the bolts out and the harness disconnected but the unit won't come out. but that's fine, i'm going to get another and just let it dangle because if it goes bad again, i'll be able to easily replace it. i had to cut and bend my radio bracket to get at the controller. i was cursing up a storm. my neighbors must be used to it by now.... what a moronic design. i'm very surprised that Honda did this. so i have a guy who has one that i'm going to buy and plug it in to see if this is the problem. if not, i'm taking a sledge to this car....
Did you ever get your power window module out? If so, may I ask how since the lower air ducts are causing me issues 😬😬
YES, but that wasn't the problem. I went through a lot of trouble for nothing. I finally just cut the radio brackets to get to the module and replace it. I looked inside the module I bought from a guy here and there's not much that can go wrong with these things. I wish I had known this.... if however your's in bad let me know and I'll sell you the one that is tested "good".
