95 del sol passenger window leak
I have a 95 Del Sol S and the passenger window is leaking. Not sure if it's just the weatherstripping? It was more than just a slow drip... =/ Has anybody else had this problem??

Yeah, its a design flaw. My 93 does too.
I THOUGHT it was fixed in 95, but maybe, as said above, it was 96.
They run about $150 at Majestic plus shipping.
I'm going to order one myself in a few weeks, and will try to do a write up as I go.

Do you have a link to that place?
Mine needs replacing bad too. I have a 94.
Don't feel bad egVJMsol It is one of the two major design flaws of the del sol.
Tip: When you get the new stripping try to stuff some foam into the inside of it at the corners. It will help it to seal and might last a little longer.

Its www.Hondaautomotiveparts.com
Put in a 97 just to be sure, But I think I checked all the years, and they are all now the same part number.
As for the tip. I'm not sure I would do that. Seeing as how they fixed the design flaw, I wouldnt want to interfere with their engineering. I hear the new ones work just fine without modification. But I'd also like confirmation from anyone who has done it.

The part number is the same for all years/models now. I installed mine about 3 weeks ago and I've driven in light rain twice now with no leaks. Before, mine was quite bad on both sides and now it's perfectly dry. Around 135 shipped I believe, and worth every penny.

Ah, good to know.
And yeah, its $125 plus shipping, I think I meant total with shipping, but whatever.
Its goin in right after the new carpet does. May even do the heater core (only has 300k on it!), just to be sure nothing leaks on it!

Re: 95 del sol passenger window leak
they update the seals in 94. the problem was that the seals didnt set tight where the "vent window" on top so they "updated" the seals. At that time ( in 94 ) all 93 had to be recalled back for the replacement. And "NO" you cant get it replace for free now since its over 10 years old,.. any ways... the updated seal has a "little wing/flap" on the seal. I cant post pics ? dont know why but the 93 clearly doesn't have it. Listen if you know anyone that has a 94 and up Del Sol look at theres and you will know what Im talking about. THose of you that has a 94 and up and your window leaks ,.. its one or two things 1: your window needs realignment or 2: just spray silicone on the seals,.. to make them "rubbery" again. If they are hard/stiff.

Re: 95 del sol passenger window leak
yeah, +1 to silicone the seals (reminds me of a joke about penguins, but nevermind)
Its cheaper than buying new ones. Take a paper towel, and spray it, then wipe down the seals. That way it minimizes the over spray, and cleanup.
You may have to do it a couple of times, every other day for a bit, but eventually they will soften up and swell up, and that helps it seal.
Mine look/feel like they are brand new, but they are 93s so they arent going to seal no matter how soft and puffy lol.

Re: 95 del sol passenger window leak
here is a pic of the replacement seals notice the "flap/wing" were my finger is pointing at. 93 didn't have them. the "flap/wing" helps channel the water toward the inner seal - so it wont leak. Like I said I do have a used but good replacement. $40 plus shipping
oh sorry about the pics so big.

you have to look and see how and what it takes to take these seal out of your car. Your gonna need some sealant like RTV - RV sealant,.. the stuff they use for head gaskets you can get them at Advance Discount- Auto Zone etc. what ever you have were you live - remember there are like 4 plastic "pins" . I one each side of the inner door and 2 on top. You cant lose those... tell you what I"ll tale pics its just not a "take it off and put it on" type install. Will do that tomarrow morning or afternoon.
