Default Trading stock R seats for 2003 Civic Si seats considered an up/downgrade?

They seem like the JDM Recaros by the feel and material. The bolsters are much better than stock to me. Hm, opinions?

I wouldn't do it. They are nice seats, but I like the R's better, I think.

I'm not sure if the height is a big issue, only thing I'm worried about is fitment. Sliders would probably be very different than the DC2. I'm doubting an installation without modification.

the bouncy part really makes a difference in feel...i've spent some time in rsx seats which are pretty similar to the new civic ones i think, but i missed the middle bouncy section, which can only be had with the stock or jdm seats

if you're going for look, then thats a different story...however, i don't know if i like the red middle section behind the head on the si seats...but thats just me

those seats look too chunky imo. i wouldn't do it, but I guess if they are free or something. if you are actually going to pay for them, then get something else.

There are definate upgrades by going to the new Si seats.

Because the one thing ITR seat lack, is shoulder support/bolster. And the new Si seat certainly has that.

However, ITR seats feel tighter around the waist/rib area compared to the Si seats, but that's not as important IMO as having good lateral support of the shoulder area.

I'll even say that it's comparable to the JDM oem Recaro's the way the Si seats hold my upper torso during lateral movements.

But alas, the Si seat is abnormaly high. I'm not even sure if you can wear a helmet and still clear the rooflining with a comfortable amount of space. The ITR seat wins this category.

I have to lean the seat back quite a ways to clear the roofliner while wearing a helmet (stock USDM ITR seats). Is there a seat out there that sits lower to give me more headroom. I like to sit straight up but cant do it when wearing a helmet. Do the new DC5-R seats sit lower? Any ideas for a seat that sits lower?

i love the new SI seats. i havent put them in yet but i did put them in my racecar just to check for clearance. the do sit alot taller but mostly because the brackets r thicker. depending on what u use them for will prolly b a big choice on if u wanna upgrade. they feel great when u sit in them. i have integra seats in both my cars now and i want to put the SIs in my 99 coupe but i just cant cause of my work. alot of the time i get diry and i dont wanna get my SIs dirty.

S2000 seats sit the lowest, I recommend them over any OEM seat.....

Strictly for more headroom, maybe.

But otherwise, they stink. First of all, it's leather so you slip and slide all day long. Secondly, shoulder support is lacking. Big Willow Springs wasn't fun in those seats
