CEL code reading problems
so... i have a 96 coupe with a d16z6 swapped into it, vtec and obd1 converted, and when it rains, some sensor gets wet and shorts and it throws a code and the CEL turns on and makes the car run pretty rough (idling at around 1700, won't go past 4000rpms) but still drives fine i guess but when it's warm and dry there's no CEL and the car absolutely shreds just like normal. point of the story is i need to figure out what sensor is getting wet and shorting and so i need to read the code to find out, so i connect the two holes of the blue connector with the paper clip to read the code if you guys know what i'm talking about and... the CEL doesn't flash any codes and just stays solid???? the paper clip is all the way in and i know it is making a connection because when i have the paper clip in the connector, the SRS light flashes when normally it just stays on solid (because i don't have a bag in the steering wheel) so i have no idea what's going on has anyone every experienced this?
CEL on solid with jumper installed is when it doesn't have a code and is in service mode for setting ignition timing etc.
Have you tried to jumper it when CEL comes on without shutting the car off? If the 7.5A backup fuse is blown it will not store codes as it resets itself as soon as the car is shut off.

well actually something strange happened today. just had two days of dry weather and the code never went away, and it rained last night and i get in the car this morning and the code was actually gone and it was running just fine so i guess the rain isn't what is causing it. i don’t know
I would crack open the ECU. I suspect the capacitors may have popped or are going to.
You could also have some grounding problems. If I recall there is some grounds in the area you mentioned water. You could also have a bad seem seal under the fender in the pillar area as per a TSB Honda put out about it.
