Default 2005 CR-V Dash Electrical issues

Hey Everyone, I have a 2005 CR-V that's been in the family since it was a year old. Recently the instrument cluster has been cutting out / freezing intermittently. While it's frozen the warning lights and the PRNDL still light up accordingly, usually the check engine and the park brake light stay illuminated until everything kicks back in and it starts working normal again. Sometimes it's a five minute thing and other times they stay frozen for a week. Now that it gets dark early I've noticed not only are the gauges freezing but all the interior lights, dash, radio and heater controls also quit working... but the radio and the heater a/c still function as normal just not illuminated.

I have checked for bad or a loose fuse, battery cable corrosion, battery test, loose belts, played with all the switches while it was working normal and while it was not operating properly.
If anyone has a recommendation as to where to start looking it would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Probably time for a new (to you) gauge cluster.

Not sure which lights are the problem but I had an issue with the brake light staying on, turned out to be the MICU in the under dash fuse box.

"Brake Light stays on . Tested float sw and the hand brake sw, both good. I thought that the keyless elec locks not working was a separate issue but find that they are routed through the MCS also.

Entry light control - INOP
Keyless/power Door Lock - INOP
Key-in reminder - INOP
Lights-on reminder - INOP All MPC items"

I replaced teh under dash fuse box/MICU with an 05 and was back close to normal. Replace again with an 02 and back to normal except for an intermittent VTEC P1259 but that is another story...

Mine do this occasionally to.

Bang on the dash over the cluster with your hand.

Work fine for me until a decide to change the gauge cluster.
