Help please 98 Accord rattling humming after engine warms video
Thank you for helping me.
1998 Accord EX 225,000 manual tranny
Here is video
Video at 13 seconds, sounds horrible after engine warms up. Occurs especially while accelerating engine.
About a month before the issue, the last procedure I completed was a timing belt, balancer belt and pulleys changed.
To try and find the noise, I removed the serpentine belt and the AC/Alternator belt. I removed the timing belt cover. Started car and that is what video shows. Then, I removed the tbelt tensioner and tbelt pulley. The pulleys are smooth.
Noise is coming from tbelt area as far as I can tell.

Did you use an economy timing belt kit?
Those are known to be crap right out of the box.
Hello Steve,
I thought I should be able to feel a bad pulley by hand. Lesson learned. The pullies I purchased from Rock Auto. Timing belt tensioner pulley does not have marking except on the bearing -Koyo made in Japan. The balancer belt pulley is GMB.
What brand name should I look for and where should I purchase? Thank you, very much.

Hello Steve
My bad, the balancer pulley is Gates, still made in china. I was surprised. Didn't know Gates sub their parts to China now. Honestly, I hate Chinese parts. Always always fail me. I purchased this kit from Rock Auto, looks like I put 20,0000 miles.
Will order my replacement parts from Hondaautomotiveparts.com. Will update you when completed. Thank you.
Cheers

Hello Steve,
Just a follow through. It was the pulley making the noise. I replaced both pullies. Am suspecting the balancer pulley since it was Chinese made, Gates. The timing belt pulley is Koyo - Japan.
thanks again for your assurance.
