I picked up a 99 civic dx hatch. It is slammed on some kind of coilovers. Sits too low, rides like dog doo, tires rub too much, and clunks over minor bumps. I am most likely going to put a set of 1.5ish" drop springs and struts on it and replace the whole front end of suspension. Upper and lower control arms and bushings and ball joints, tie rod ends, etc... I haven't done anything honda related in about 12 years or so according to my post history on here so I am out of the loop on what parts are quality. I am not looking for performance, just reliability and a decent ride. I know that ride quality is sacrificed to a point with lowered vehicles and I'm ok with a little, just not internal bleeding caused by country roads. Sooo... looking for recommendations on budget friendly (doesn't have to be the cheapest) suspension parts to rebuild the front end and make it reliable and somewhat better of a ride. Thank you!!!!
Oem is best but for aftermarket Moog is a close second. Id go on rockauto.com for ball joints, tie rods and swaybar endlinks.
in my opinion drop springs on stock shocks is a huge waste of time and money, you should get a matched set, koni, eibach, tokiko, anything but drop springs. Stay away from coilovers under $500 a set, its all garbage.
its up to you how far you want to take the restoration, factory replacements vs adjustable parts... theres alot of decent camber kits out under $200 (skunk 2, hardrace) Lots of hard rubber bushings for bette response, you should look at your rear trailing arm bushings and front compliance bushings.
