Default Honda crx si DPFI to MPFI issue

Hey guys, I just put in a d15b7 that I had into an old si shell that didn’t have a motor. I took an MPFI set up and rewired everything, although I did use a DPFI harness witch was a lot more work but it was all I had. But after putting everything together I slapped on a new dizzy with it that I’m unsure if it is supposed to work with a b7 head it’s code is: HT04. Although after all this work was done turned out I wasn’t getting any spark, I’m getting fuel and pretty sure air as well. I check all the fuses and those are in order. And I’m also getting 20 quick flashes on my ecu (pm6 ecu) If that helps at all thank you guys for your help and time!

for one, you cannot use an obd1 distributor with an obd0 ecu. you need a td02 or td18 (not sure on 2nd number). and did you also remember to swap the wires at the tps connector?

The HT04 looks to fit a 96-98 non vtec civic making it an obd2a distributor.

Code 20 is the ELD. Did you do anything with the underhood fuse box or grounds?

crx_si-r is absolutely correct about the dizzy - what you have there will not work. TD-02U is the distributor from an SI. I thinkTD-18U may have been for the HF, but they are completely interchangeable so it doesn't really matter which.

In case you still have issues after that, I have run into a few cars that didn't match the bulkhead pinouts I have from an old shop manual, so I'm not convinced the wiring was consistent across all 4 years. It may be necessary to backtrace and confirm everything matches, color or no.

Thank you guys, I thought something was weird about that dizzy since I have a MPFI with a resistor box witch I believe is obd0 vs a newer distributor. I did switch the wires around on the tps, although I did have to replace it Due to it getting busted. As far as the rest of the wiring I pretty much re did a lot of the harness since it was messed up, but I made sure to do everything right and professionally with soder, heat shrink, electrical tape and conduit. thank you guys for replying and helping me out I appreciate it!

Also lastly, you said guys said there no difference in using the td18u or the td02u would it make a difference on what d15 head I’m using? Or the OBD of the multi point?

The distributor doesnt have anything to do with there being a resistor box. the resistor box is solely related to the injectors being low impedance, not to be confused with only being obd0. there are obd1 low impedance injectors (92-96 prelude & some 90-94/5 accords which are also obd1).

both appear to have the same mounting points. i havent had a dpfi set up in years so i cant say 100% they are the same. but with modding the mounting tabs you should be fine.

td01 from dpfi set up

td02 from si set up

Yup. D15Bx and D16A6 heads are basically the same casting (PM6 I think). OBD1 dizzies have a different mount, OBD2 D series went back to the older mount pattern, as demonstrated.

Any D manifold that fits will run (I've used D15B7 and D16Y8). but you will have to modify the harness to reach sensors and rerun some of the coolant lines. Also maybe worth noting the B7 mani is the only one with air flow close to what the ECU is expecting. I would keep the A6 mani.
