Your thoughts on what I should do??
I have my civic that awhile back the motor stopped running because it had a bad oil leak. I wasn't driving the car at the time but someone else was and it died got to check it out the engine was spinning over so it wasn't locked up. But I looked inside the oil cap and noticed the cam wasn't spinning I was assuming the belt had broken or something. Finally took the valve cover off and the belt was still attached not broken off and saw that the cam bolt was loose then I realized that the top end had locked up probably from oil starvation. Now the bottom end still spins so I'm thinking about getting a head from the junkyard and getting new bolts and gaskets of course. No damage has been done to the pistons from what I can see and drain the oil out to see if there are any metal shaving that one of a few things I'm worried about and the condition of the oil pump. I want to try this to know if it needs a motor or not or I can fix the problem and save this motor. Should I get a head throw it on with everything else to see what happens before I go all without taking it to a machine shop. I know that will warp the head but trying not waste to much money if it doesn't work out.
