Hello folks. Want to say I’m here to learn and probably ask a lot of questions about tuning and basic knowledge about Hondas. Specifically my sons 2000 Honda Civic DX. Which has a 1.6L, 4cyl, HA, D16Y7 engine which i have already read about is not the greatest for tuning. Yet, i did read that a SOHC is not out of the question as far as tuning potential goes. My first question is; would it be better to engine swap for another D series after 2000 such as the D16Y8 which is a VTEC or just build this engine up as it is my son and mines first tuning experience. I also looked at the b series but some of the forums i looked on said it was too big to fit the engine bay in a civic. Idk if could fit and H or F series i havent’ gotten that far into the research. Question presented engine swap or work with what i have.?
