03 accord 2d P0685 & Power locks not working
I just bought a 2003 accord EX-L 2d 4cyl 5-speed (256K miles) with some modifications that I'm not fully aware of.
I've noticed modified:
With the background established, my main concerns are both doors' power lock switches aren't working, and the key fob unlock/lock buttons don't work. When I press either door's lock/unlock switch I do hear a clicking noise behind the driver side dash, but not when I use the fob. I confirmed the car does receive the fob because I can hold the unlock and both windows will roll down (also both doors' power window switches work), the trunk button works, and I see a red light flash once on the fob when I hit the lock button. I checked the relevant fuses in the driver well for the locks (good). I'm getting a P0685 ECM/PCM internal circuit malfunction power control circuit as well as cat converter code (mechanic says needs a new cat.)
Update: I fixed the power locks by replacing both doors' lock actuators. I just have the 2 codes to deal with, but no rush because no driving issues.
I've noticed modified:
- exhaust (loud)
- shifter (the lever rotates and can twist up the shift boot)
- throttle body looks newer than the rest of the engine
- air intake
- lower RPMs throttling I hear a high pitch whistling (maybe exhaust crackles too coming off throttle) that suggest some forced induction but I don't see any obvious turbo
- aftermarket head unit below the OEM console
- loose wiring in the trunk (red/blue thick gauge w/ 2 separate RCA connectors) I see the thick gauge wires coming out behind the clutch pedal into the siding so maybe there was an amp
- Third gear is a little creaky to get into
- Steering wobble (checked power steering fluid and there's only a little bit in it) and turning is pretty stiff
- braking hard while going above 40mph while in neutral caused a hard steering shake
- braking coming to a stop sometimes feels like the brakes coming on and off wobbling the car faster/slower
- low beams seem dim
- passenger window doesn't roll down smoothly
- air bag light comes on according to a mechanic means they need to be replaced
Update: I fixed the power locks by replacing both doors' lock actuators. I just have the 2 codes to deal with, but no rush because no driving issues.
