New ITR, new problems
well this is just freakin' perfect...my reverse syncho is gone...i mean GONE! the only way i can get it in reverse is put it in first and imediately put it reverse...its a pain in the *** it get it out once its in. Also, my CV joint on the passenger side is busted and there is grease all over the place. I hope all of this is covered under my warranty.
I don't believe reverse has a synchro. But both should theoretically be covered under warranty, unless driver error is found.

i believe there is no synchro for 1st or reverse.
and the problem of it not going in happens to everyone. just put it into 1 or 4 first.
get the joint checkd out though

My passenger CV joint was making noise also, the dealer had to tighten some bolts. Another friend of mine, who also has an ITR, had a similar noise on the passenger side CV joint. It may be one of the few weak points on the ITR. He is getting his fixed under warranty and the dealer fixed mine for free also.
The reverse problem is normal. I either put it in first gear and have to "let up" the clutch a bit to the initial grab (with my right foot on the brake), then push clutch back in and put it into reverse. I almost always have to go into first gear before going into reverse.

Yup....reverse is a pain in my car too...sometimes you just have to jam in or do what you do....sometimes double-clutching works too (1st gear, clutch, neutral, clutch reverse)...just one of the things with the ITR...but I kinda like it

what about first gear guys? i know ITR first gear is always hard to engage, i read this in a lot of threads. It's getting outside now in the winter, and my first gear become harder and harder to engage, is that related to the cold weather? always have to get the car moving with 2nd gear!!
I always put my car through all gears before driving to "stretch" the tranny out before driving. If you slide it into 2nd first it should go into first pretty easily. Also, if you have not changed your MTF in awhile, do so.

i have changed my MTF twice already. the last time was a couple of months ago. i also have noticed some new whining noise these couple of months when i try to make U-turn's. how does a bad CV bearing sounds like?
You've made me a little paranoid, since I'm at 66,000 miles and haven't even considered the CV boots.
i have 67,000 miles on my ride but the reverse problem isn't normal it is really really bad...my car was bought used at a local acura dealership so they gave me a 12 month 12,000 miles full coverage warranty (not to mention a 7 year, 100,000 mile powertrain). its a beautiful day outside, why am i on the computer and not out driving around? Later!
