89 civic d15b2 turns but no start
so i was on my way home and as soon as i got off the freeway i made it a st and then at the red light it stalled and slowly died out i was able to make it off the main rd and onto a side st. i tried turning it but no start. the car ran fine for the 2 months ive had it. i hear the fuel pump the battery is fine. the only guess as to what i think it might be is either ignition coil, distributer or spark. anyone have any ideas or similar issue
If the car starts back up after a few hours then check the main relay - under the dash on far left side, above the hood release. Otherwise yes, check the things you listed (and if you didn't know, the coil is inside the distributor).
car doesnt want to turn on. had to get it towed. checked the spark plugs (were good) checked other reg fuses were fine i will go back and check the main relay.
I’ve encountered this issue before. Does it usually crank but no start when it’s cold outside? And then when it’s warm outside start without issue? That’s what my sol was doing and believe it or not I took a blow dryer and warmed up my ecu a little bit and bingo. Fuel pump would prime and car work start right up. A couple leaky capacitors and possibly bad ic17 chip. As long as the ecu isn’t cold everything will work.
