Hello, still new to the forums. My 1998 honda civic LX has been having this issue where I unlock the doors and driver side door locks back up. I've replaced the door lock actuator and checked the harness and repaired any and all breaks in the lines. It's also doesn't matter if it's unlocked from the switch inside the car or the alarm system. Not sure what else it could be. Anyone else have this issue and found a fix?

 

It is designed to do that after 45 to 60 seconds if you do not open any doors. So, if you unlock by remote and open the driver's side door, does it still lock back up on it's own ?

 

Yeah, so if I use the remote or the button on the door it unlocks then instantly locks back up.

 

Hey, having the same situation here, happened twice, first time I had to enter through the trunk, use the release latch of the back seats to pull them down and then pull the lock pin in one of the back doors. Second time I was able to quickly open the door in the exact instant before the auto lock, it took like 30 tries

 

Make sure the driver door is open. Lock and unlock with the remote. If that doesn't work, manually unlock the door from the inside.

Had to do this the other week when I was changing out the old alarm for another model (different brand/model).

 

So the locks work, they lock up fine. But it's unlocking that's the problem. So if I use the button on the door inside the cat. It unlocks then locks. If I use the keyless entry it still does the same thing. I did the manual test with wire jumps to see if everything was testing properly. It all checked out. I can unlock the door manually no problem. Just trying to get it to properly work. I'm trying to restore it to its best shape. Thanks for all the help so far tho. I'm gonna try and buy a new abs door lock module (little blue lock box in driver side door) ill keep you posted. If any one knows where to source this part new, please let me know) or if anyone knows info on this issue I'd appreciate the help
