Ive been havig this problem for a while and its only really bothered now that ive installed an alarm system on my civic sedan. The alarm locks and unlocks all my doors except the driver door. To lock it i need to open the handle and push down the locking stud and to open i need the key. It defeats the purpose of keyless entry if it only unlocks my passenger doors but my driver. The door switch that is on the driver door works but only to unlocks the doors. I tried to press it down to lock the doors and it doesnt work. I tried replacing the door actuator and door switch and it didnt work. What else should i look for? I tried tracing the wire to the door jam and it leads to a dead end with no split wires. Should i keep tracing outside the driver door jam?

The driver door only locks with the door handle pulled. That's how it works. That's how it's meant to work. It's to keep people from locking their keys inside their car. Did you retrofit an OEM power lock system, or did you get some aftermarket thing?

I wasnt concerned on why i need to pull the handle to lock my door. It locks if the door is close with having to pull the handle but the door switch doesnt unlock/lock the door when pressed up or down. i only added the alarm system to the lockinng system to lock and unlock by my remote switch.

The DX did not come with power locks. I'll ask again. Did you retrofit OEM power locks in, or are you using aftermarket?

Im assuming previous owners did oem retro fit, havent touched the door lock system since i bought the car 07

Never assume. If you don't know, find out. If you don't know how to tell the difference, remove your door card and take a picture of the locking mechanism from inside the door.
