Default I better introduce myself else anger the mods.

Hello, I'm Zypher.

Picked up a real hooptie of a Honda Civic a few years ago for a great price. He's a 1992 civic hatch, LS swap. B18B1 engine.
Everything manual, shift, windows, mirrors, seats, steering.
Lightly modded, cherry bomb style muffler with functioning cat welded on, cold air intake, and a real mystery box of an ECU. Even had a fluodyne radiator (though that sucker was pretty much dying on arrival, since replaced with a stockalike.)
The frame is canadian, eh?
And I have no clue where the engine came from.
Came with the name Bruce. But I've done so much to him since then that I appended it to "Bruce the Chariot".

The bad? Well.... Hooptie. The cancer is strong in this one.
The original owners must have had some serious mental disorders.

To replace the interior door handle/lock assembly on drivers side they cut a small section of of the plastic cup that fits around it because they were too dense to figure out how it twisted and sliped off.
They did the exact same thing to replace the headlight housings, because they either didn't want to, or didn't know how to take the bumper off.
They choose to install subwoofers themselves and decimated the wiring in the process. (Twist and tape type crap).
When the back started leaking they just let it pool in the spare tire well. Leading to about 10 different leaks back there.
They even broke the godforsaken glove box of all things, removed it, fixed with glue, then somehow put it back on with the hinges on backwards by bending them to fit.

You guys are gonna totally hate me for this blatant destruction of "stock" but it wasn't really stock anything to begin with.
I've "Fixed" most of that, replaced the CV joints and replaced the suspension on all four wheels with a stiffer but not unbearable progress coilover kit (the old coils were mix in match front back rusties and the shocks where shot.)

Had to totally strip the interior, cleaned it up to the best of my ability front windshield had a bad seal/leak and stock molding was tore up anyway so I used black high heat silicone caulk around it and slammed a generic rubber strip molding over top.
After which I gave him a good layer of sound deadening on basically EVERYTHING flat. Including the entire roof and insides of door panels (U thot u doors wuz hvy huu?) But didn't overdo it.
Bought a bolt of cheap car carpeting, dark green, cut and mostly molded it to the floor. (Doesn't look terrible.) Rewired a great portion of the dash (solder and shrink sleeves like a boss), replaced the crappy aftermarket head unit with a much less but still crappy after market head unit. Re-ran the wires for both door speakers and replaced those with some Fosgate R1525X2 "Primes" full range, watertight baffled.
Measured the back hatch area, hopped on blender 3d model software, and designed a 4.2 cubic foot subwoofer box that widens half way up to fit over the wheel wells, top flush with seats, front leaned back 15° so the backs seats still work normally, annnnnd is "inverted stair stepped" at the back so I still have to full easy access to the spare tire/tools.
Built said box with a jigsaw and "happy thoughts". Wrapped it in the exact same carpet as the floor, 110% matching.
Sensually inserted two 10 inch kicker comp Rs with efficient Rockford Fos class D monos powering them (doesn't even phase the alternator. Lose about 0.2 volts while bumping.) Best loose part detector ever! No rattles.
Yes I wired it right with bat inline fuse and a fused distributor block.
Replaced the shifter **** with a pool ball. #6 green to match the carpet + custom dark green/black shift boot. Never put the passenger seat back in (I actually really like it out. People can still ride in back, tons of leg room. Better soundscape.) Oh, and the seats it came with are actually out of del sol.
Don't say anything about "safety" lol. 92 frame. Didn't even have airbags.
Also replaced the sad sounding aftermarket horn the insane previous owner Installed HORN UP like an idiot. (Gets crap inside and ruins horns) With a klaxon! Just fer shtsNggles. 200% worth it.

Currently got a new set of OEM plugs, spark wires, and a thermostat coming in the mail. (I know those suckers are way past "due date".)

I decided to make an account because you guys don't know me.... But I know you....
This site has provided me with a ton of information, so much so that I've never needed to ask any questions. Just look around long enough.
Thanks guys!

Also. I need to get into that ECU and see wtf is going on in there. I've never seen an engine light other than when rpms too high. Goes away as soon as I let up and honestly it's quite the mystery, no codes.
So I will probably have questions about that in the near future. Am tech skilled, just don't know crap about old honda/acura ECUs

I'll post some pics tomorrow when the sun shows up.
He's not pretty, but he's one of a kind. Bruce my Chariot.

EDIT: Fixed a typo, also it rained all day, so rain check on the pics.

Woof!

I've got the rest of the dash, still working on sorting out the rats nest of wires previous owner left me, so I'm leaving em out until the right time. Also, anyone know any tricks to keep that darn pop up cup holder from rattling? Not even the subs causing it, just engine vibration.

Any guesses about this little guy? I'll be doing some heavy research into it here soon, just fixing the mechanical stuff first.

Not to shabby for a car that's a year older than I am, plus I'm not even a car mechanic or technician, hehe. (Though I guess this means I am now. )

Almost forgot engine shot.

Hey what’s up man? I’m digging the car. It’s got personality 😏 LOL. But in all seriousness, I’d drive the crap out of it. As for the ecu, phearable.net sells chipped ecus and the like, so I’d bet you’ve got a chipped ecu for the b swap. As for the engine light at high rpms, I’d bet money it’s right around 6500/7000? With chipped ecus, you can use the check engine light as a shift light. Pretty sure that’s what that is 🤣. And DUDE that’s a big ol box. No more hatch space for you. Nice car man!

Also, I’ve got a set of progress cs 2s on my 98 hatch as well. Love em. What spring rate did you go with? I went 350/350. Kind of feel like I could’ve gone 450/450. But it’s already a little choppy as is 🤷🏻‍♂️ But you know, race car.

Thanks grind!
I'm pretty sure you might be right on that shift light thing. I'm gonna have to do some research before I rely on it though.
Only time I've seen it is usually on on-ramps when I really get on it hard.
Once I get the engine cleaned up a bit and not scared I'll blow something I will probably be seeing allot more of that little light.
Oh also need a quieter muffler. I can smell the cat converter starting to go so that should be soon... Nothing screams "pull me over" like a silly loud exhaust.
Gotta be careful when it comes to scketchy previous owners.

Yeah the box is so big cuzz it's sealed, I wanted good response and listen to allot of very low rumbly stuff like Lorn. So the sealed box lets me push the subs lower without worrying about over-extending them.
Would only need one half that size ported, would be louder but lose the low end + easier to blow. Not a loud system, built for audio quality, with room to tinker. No angry neighbors here though it can rumble pretty good if I crank it.

The missing hatch space is more than made up for by leaving the passenger seat out. Can nearly lay down in there.

Almost missed your question. I went with 450F/350R. Made a world of difference, he's glued to the winding country roads he frequents. Just gotta watch them potholes.

Oh just a reminder, I added ALLOT of weight with the sound deadening and ginormo box. So the stronger coils feel like lighter ones. Rides well, just a little bit rough.
