Long time reader, but first post. I would say that is a testament to how great the information is on here

I've been looking into an inconsistent low idle speed, so I went to the junk yard today to pull some IACVs. I found one that appears to be a newer part and also pulled a used Denso one.

When I shake the newer IACV, it rattles. The white accordion piece seems to be making the noise. Is this normal for a new IACV? The used Denso one does not rattle.

Generally, if it rattles, at least that part is good. If you don't hear anything, I don't think I would use that part.
