Oil dipstick length issues
Hello, I am having an issue I can't seem to resolve. I had a obd1 d15b8 that was having issues. Had it swapped for a obd2 jdm d15b non vtec. All the obd1 parts were swapped over from the old engine to the jdm d15b. The d15b did NOT have a dipstick for some reason so I used the one from the usdm d15b8 I had in the car. Upon filling the car with 3.5 quartz of oil the usdm dipstick seems to be too short as it comes out dry and reads that the engine has no oil. I tryed to get a obd2 1.6 nonvtec dipstick from autozone hoping that was the usdm equivalent but they gave me a dorman dipstick that was like a foot too long. Any help will be great thanks!
3.5 quarts seems low. Add another half quart and see if it reads on the stick.
Are the dipstick tubes the same length on the blocks? Oil level will be more set by crankshaft height. If the dipstick tubes are the same then the distance from the oil level to the crankshaft will be the same. JDM oil pan might be a larger capacity.
