It looks like the right size plenum to be a Y8 equivalent.
Most likely guess is it's a JDM equivalent. They had basically the same motors with slightly different configurations, like an EGR where we didn't or something of such sort.
I'd say it is usable and if the sensor/valve or whatever it is on the top of the plenum isn't part of your Y8. Then I'd suggest removing it and plugging the holes that go into the plenum.
The purge control solenoid mounted to the top of the plenum may be ugly, but it won't matter with respect to installation. The real key with the I/M that you have pictured above is that it is a '99-00 Y8 manifold. What differentiates it from a '96-98 Y8 I/M is the 5/16" vacuum port in the middle of the casting. This is connected to a vacuum accumulator rail inside the mounting flange of the I/M. This system doesn't work on a '96-98 Y8 cylinder head and will cause a HUGE vacuum leak. You "MAY" be able to plug off this system somehow and make it work... many have tried and usually fail. So I have found that it is best to just get an I/M that MATCHES the flange on your cylinder head. So look at the machined gasket surface on your cylinder head: If it has a flat horizontal edge across the top and 4 tiny holes in the gasket leading to the gap there... you have a '99-00 cylinder head, so you must have a '99-00 I/M to go with it. IF the gasket basically only surrounds the intake runners and has no long flat edge across the top... you have a '96-98 cylinder head, which means you must have a '96-98 Y8 I/M.

Any questions ?
So are these the holes you are on about? I have seen many people blank these off and suceed. My main query is the male vac fitting on the top right? Where does this connect to and from?
