Default two differant 5spd y8 manifolds?

i just picked up a complete 5spd y8 intake manifold and it leaks all around my z6 head. my friends y8 looks differant around the head. i was told that i have a jdm y8 manifold. can anyone second this? and i there a way that i can make it seal without buying another manfold?

thanx

whats it leaking???? a dseries is a dseries. no differance in port configuration/bolt pattern. maybe you gotta Bseries manifold if its even possible to fit on a D head.

there are 2 differant manifolds. my friends doesnt come up as high on the head as mine does....it is leaking because it has an extra piece on it. its leaking air causing the idle to be high and surging. mine is a 2000 and my friends is a 97 so maybe what ^^ he said is right. what are air injection holes? and can i still use it?

96-98 don't have the air injection holes. You probably have a 99-00 manifold. All you need to do is remove the manifold and jbweld the 4 tiny holes above each injector hole on the flange and the long nipple on top of the flange.

There's a difference between 96-98 and 99-00 they have extra hold, yes jbweld will work I believe the one mod used it, but they are diffferent, a d series isn't just a d series lol

yea, i guess by leaking you mean you have an erratic idle, its surging.....so like you said if its a 99-00 manifold, it has air injection holes, just jbweld them, i have a y8 mani of my y7 hatch and it has taken the heat for a year now....but also, you said it was a 5spd, what car are you putting this on, caz if its a hatch, the iacv on a 5spd is on the mani, while the iacv on hatches are on the tb, so your problem could reside there, but i doubt that is your problem for there would be an open hole on the mani and you would notice that, goodluck
