Vss based rev limiter? B16
Is there a ref limiter if the ecu, isn’t getting vss feedback? Changed. My trans fluid the other day and had to fill through the vss hole because the fill plug was stupid tight and I was I. A hurry. Vss dropped right back into place with no difficulties. Ever since then it’s been hitting what feels like a limiter around 6500-7000 rpms. Not sure exactly where because it was u expected and I wasn’t really paying attention to the tach. It doesn’t feel like a miss or like it’s breaking up. Feels like a hard limiter, as in it stops all acceleration and rpm bounces a bit
stock ECU?
With a chipped ECU, you can set up launch control, where you have a lower RPM below a certain speed. This can be an issue with VSS issues since the ECU will limit the revs when it thinks youre at zero speed.

chipped p28 on chrome. I didn’t tune it nor have I seen the tune. What you’re saying though was definitely something that had crossed my mind. Wasn’t sure if there was anything there from the factory that would have a vss based limiter tho
Its usually the electrical connector. Ive had luck jurry rigging them by sticking a piece of a paper clip in there to help it make contact, but the best thing would be to just replace the pins and connector shell.
