D15b7 block with a d15b8 head

I bought a 95 and it had a d15b7 block and it came with a d15b8 head and I was wondering if this is even going to work before I put it together

It will but you will need the d15b8 ecu.

I just quickly checked and it's the same pistons in the B8 as the B7 so the difference isn't in the block, it's purely in the heads and the ecu.

it has a p28 ecu in it

Way wrong ECU. The P28 is the vtec D16Z6 ecu.

We don't have the B8 up here in Canada so I am not sure the ECU number. A google search should net you the answer.
