I'm thinking about putting a d16z6 head on my d16y7 block. i know i have to do something to the ECU. but i don't know how to do it or if i just have to buy one that is all set up for the v-tech head so it kicks the v-tech on. the thing that has to be done is call a high cam fuel map. can anyone help me out with this? thanks

what year is your car? pre '95, get a P28 or any OBD1 civic/teg ECU and it can have VTEC capability added. A 96 or after, you need a conversion harness and I know a local guy selling one for 50 that was on a 99 Si

The P28 came out of OBD1 Civics that had the Z6 motor.

You could boost it, but I would would recomend at least putting some ARP rod bolts and head studs in first.

build another and then just blow that one up. Get a really hard waste gate spring and run like 30lbs. It will be fun until it blows up epically.
