Default Transmission slips. Wont engage 2nd gear

Trans transmission will not move into second gear from first and the D4 light is blinking on the instrument cluster it says there is a p0780 and that suggests that there is an automatic transaxle malfunction if anybody could help me that would be great thanks transmission fluid was also changed so I'm a little stuck

The blinking is telling you the code, are you saying the code you retrieved is P0780? It's important to know what year car to help.

Common issues with not going into second is the shifter solenoids are clogged (take them off and clean them) or low fluid. Check those first.

Also if there is any discoloration or burnt smell from the tranny fluid.

Thank you so much for responding it is a 2000 Honda Accord 2.3 l and the transmission fluid was changed about 4 days ago so I don't think that's the issue as far as I know

OK, then check the shifter solenoids and clean them.

This will show you how to remove them. Just clean off the filters, hopefully they are simply clogged. If not, then hoefully replacing the 2nd gear solenoid will let it shift again.

I have an 02 Accord (I have owned it 13 years), and the same thing happened. It's my teenagers car. Changing the speed sensor first, then a flush and fill, changing the A/T filter. Did you find a fix?
