I just bought a 1998 civic ex to try and save on gas. I'm also fairly inexperienced with cars. When I popped the hood, I noticed oil on top of the intake.
I've seen tons of posts (ive searched) about oil in the intake, but I have fresh oil sitting on top of the intake. Any idea where this may be coming from? I was thinking valve cover gasket might be bad, but it looks clean all around. It looks like it might be coming from where the intake connects to the head, although a search shows that usually that should result in coolant leaking
I was looking around the engine bay and noticed this empty nipple....anyone know what it connects to? I've looked around but I don't see a hose hanging anywhere
It's located almost directly underneath the distributor. 1998 Civic ex
Okay. I just changed PCV and I know the distributor was leaking oil as well, so a new o ring went in there.
Thanks for all the help. hopefully that solves it, tho I worry I may have to do valve cover as well
