Good site for transmission
Need to replace my transmission, 1998 2.3 auto. Looking at a jdm one just because the vastly lower miles, what is a good site people have used before to get one? I can find a ton of import sites but always have mixed reviews. Would like to hear from anyone that has actually ordered/recieved/installed one from someplace/
I've bought or assisted others in buying them off ebay. Check to see if they have a good rating, if there is a lot of review (like thousands) and order from one with a warranty.
These guys, for example, have 3000+ reviews and a 90 day warranty.

You can bypass Ebay in many cases if you want to buy direct from them, although I have found they don't tend to be any cheaper that way.
The main thing to do with stuff from this company, which probably holds true for most is that you want to replace all the solenoids with your oem one, you want to change the fluid, and replace the axle seals as they will be dried out (these are low mileage but they have sat for years and those seem to be dried out in many cases).

I have used Willow Creek Transmissions with excellent results. They produce a totally rebuilt unit and have addressed the problems which cause them to fail.
Two year warranty.
Sylvain has mentioned he isn't doing many lately for the older models but definitely worth calling him.

Good thinking, I have now learned to swap the axle seals whenever I either take out the trans or replace the axles, it's a $5 part and it only takes a few minutes to put one in.
