How much quieter is the 2017 CR-V?
I've been doing a lot of reading up on the 2017 - current generation of the CR-V. Several reviewers have said that it's noticeably quieter inside than the previous generation, but one or two have said it has the same level of interior noise.
Does anyone have experience driving both the current gen and previous gen of CR-V who can comment on engine, road, and wind noise? Is either quiet enough to hold a quieter conversation at highway speeds?

I've spent a lot of time behind the wheel of the current generation CR-V. I can state With all certainty that it is quieter than the previous generation. Being a completely new Platform Honda went all out to make this thing as quiet as possible.I also like the torque that comes from that turbo engine. It develops most of its pulling power at about 1800 to 2200 RPM and holds it pretty much to Red Line. What I have done with a couple of C RVs of that 2017-2018 model year is Tune them with hondata flash, adding 25 horsepower and 25 foot pounds of torque As well as increasing throttle response With no detriment to fuel economy ( flash a 2.0 turbo Accord 10spd once and it turned into an animal, but that's another story)I live in Canada so all trims have the 1.5 litre turbo however I know that in the United States the 1.5 litre turbo is only made standard across the board for I think the 2019 and 2020 model year if I'm not mistaken. In the US I believe that the two wheel drive LX And the four-wheel drive LX still have the 2.5 L normally aspirated engine for '16 to '18.
Some people Grumble about the CVT transmission but I can tell you that it operates flawlessly and it's really a great transmission to have with the Turbo.
