Will a catback exhaust for ex fit on an hx
I am looking into buying a yonaka exhaust for my 96 hx coupe. I am checking to make sure that the exhaust for an ex can still fit on the hx. the only difference i can see is that there is hangars by the resonator the piping looks to me the same on both the ex and hx but id like some clarification that it will fit, thank you🙏🏽
It's my understanding that the coupe and sedan cat back exhaust is all the same lengths and setup. It's the hatch that is shorter both in muffler and possibly some of the piping in between.
Yea i had thought so too but then i saw the pictures they looked the same besides the hangars. Thank you for the help have a good one
Oh, you are talking about an HX. Doesn't the vtec-e HX motor have the catalytic converter in the header? I know it does on the VX and USDM CX of the previous generation (92-95). If the HX has a cat in the header, the exhaust will be a touch different being there isn't a cat under the car like the DX/LX and EX and Si.

hey tomcat, yes my HX does have the catalytic in the header. you are correct, it's not under the car, next to the engine.
Would explain why the hangers look different when OP was looking at the trim variances.
EX/Si Exhaust will fit on a DX/LX/HX. You need to pick up a test pipe to make up the length of the "missing" converter and bolt it up to the end of your A-pipe.
