2001 honda civic auto to manual swap
i have a 2001 honda civic ex and am 2002 honda civic lx im trying to change the transmisión from the 2002 to the 2001 do i need the engine wiring harness and the ecu if any one can help on any more details of what else would be need it to make the full trany swap both cars are complete nothing is missing one starts and the other starts for a second and dies after
I just finished my swap on my 2001 ex I used a 2005 ex, you will need the manual ecu manual engine harness, and manual subframe, you will also need the front mount off the manual. Also its not necessary but it will help if both motors are the same i.e. d17a1 non VTEC or the d17a2 VTEC. It can be a pain in the butt if your motor is non vtec and you install a vtec harness and ecu.

massive problem so ive just completed one of these swaps, i bought a 2003 honda civic ex 5 speed manual to swap into my 2005 honda civic special edtion, i have everything connected from the manual trans to the engine bay harness manual ecu the manual cars ignition switch. when i go to start it everything lights up as it should but only the starter relay clicks its the original automatic fuse box, when i also try to hook up my scanner it comes up as a ecu communication error now everything worked from the blue car as i verified it before doing the swap. please help me with this. thanks everyone
