Any transmission from a 92-00 civic. But, the 96-00 Y8 tranny being the best.

manual starter and manual ecu (for ex, no matter what tranny you decide on)

you need a lot more, do a search or check the sticky at the top of this forum.

and btw, the y8 is not necessarily the best, the dx transmission has longer gears and although its very lazy around the street, i get 35mpg easy while most other ex owners i now manage only 32mpg

I'm talking performance wise. So yes the Y8 transmission is the best transmission out of all the D-series.

performance wise yep. although when i rebuild my tranny i'm gonna add y8 first and second gears and keep the higher gears of my dx. that in my mind would be the best overall . .

but i digress . . .

As posted before, I'll put it up again just to reaffirm that Victor is a mechanical genius.
