B20b swap 94 coupe Power steering help am noob
Hiya im recently new, (first thread)
i bought a 94 civic coupe that needs some tlc for sure im also new to the car scene somewhat
and i fell in love with hondas and the swaps, the community and the love :D
my goal is to rebuild this car to be a solid reliable daily but also have some power when u want it.
i mainly bought it for the swap for pretty cheap. has b20b pretty sure its high comp JDM on LS transmission 150k miles on both
As it is now has no power steering no ac and i have a heater issue and im slammed and straight piped :p
ive done small things to the engine like valve cover gasket adjusted valves(sounded like they were clanking around alot) post adjustment they sound much better and consistent.
thermostat as i thought it was stuck open causing no heat and i was right, but now it doesnt get that warm but i can feel it trying to.
the pcv valve was just missing and no hose so i sourced that and re connected it to where it should be. also some other hoses on the engine that im suspicious are going to the wrong place.
idk much about where the car came from. I got it from a gentleman who drove it to work and back for 6 months or so before that he got it from kids who liked to race, so daily and reliability werent exactly in mind at all with this car
My next thing ill work on putting back in is the power steering, i read that i can use the B series pump with mixed brackets
and ive read that i CANT use the B series pump, also read i could use D series or 94-97 integra GSR pump so at this point i have no straight answer
so my few questions are
-what pump do i need?
-What brackets do i need?
-what rack and pinion do i need?
-power steering lines?
- Am i missing anything?
ive also read about manual steering racks for EG's
is this also a viable option?
as of now im both hands cranking the wheel around turns in town, will the manual rack be this difficult as well?
