Hi guys,

I'm hoping some of you here can help me, I picked up a 97 civic HB that someone had converted to power windows, but they cut the door harness and now i'm attempting to find the correct harness to reconnect it. I looked at the plug that in on the door, there are 16 wires going into it (i googled the vin and it says its a 97 HX coupe) then I looked at the floor harness (the one that comes out of the fender), and that one only has 15 wire. Can someone tell me why one side has 15 while the other side has 16?

the floor harness colors are as follow
the wires come in a large size and a small size and i looked up the chart to try to clarify them

Large
BLK / GRN ( PWR window)
BLUE / BLK (power mirrror)
RED / WHITE (power window)
BLUE / OJ (power window)
BLUE / YELLOW (power mirrors?)
RED / YELLOW (power door lock)
WHITE / GREEN (power doors)

Small
GRN / OJ (power doorlock)
GRN / WHITE (power door lock)
SILVER / BLK (sound sytem)
BLUE (sound system)
BLUE BLK (power mirror)
BLUE / WHITE
RED / YELLOW
BLUE / YELLOW (power mirrors?)

I have went to the junkyard and looked at multiple EK coupe door harness, they either come with 17 wires or 16 wires, i cant find any that is 15 wires

I have tested the passenger door and it works when there is a good ground, not sure if this helps

is there a difference between the HX and EX door harness on the 97 model?

 

Any 96-98 civic 2dr harness should work.

 

do you know why then that 1 side of the harness has 16 wires while the other side only has 15?

 

Probably missing the speaker wires.

edit: not to mention 2dr vs 4dr, so there might be extra wires.
