Default D16Y8 to JDM D16A SWAP

Hi my names Erick, i have a 1997 Honda Civic EX 1.6 Automatic

BEFORE SWAP
1997 Honda Civic EX 1.6 VTECH

1.D16Y8 Block
2.P2K Intake Manifold
3.P2P ECU
4.EJ6 Automatic Transmission

AFTER SWAP
  • JDM D16A
  • P2K Intake Manifold
  • P2P ECU
  • EJ6 Automatic Transmission
  • New Knock Sensor (DUE TO P0325)
  • New Oxygen Sensors Upper and Lower
  • New Aftermarket Headers
  • Vehicle Speed Sensor Plug
  • Front Driver Side Engine Mount
  • Driver Seat Bolts
  • Intake Manifold RearSupport (P2K) IPT4
  • Hood Holder Stand Plastic Clip
  • Honda Coolant Equivalent
  • Air Box Filter
  • Vtec Solenoid Gasket
  • Side View Mirrors Control Switch
  • Driver Side Door Panel
  • Transmission Line Gasket Return Line ( WAS LEAKING DUE TO METAL WASHER BEING ON TOO TIGHT)
  • OEM Honda Oil Filter
  • Passenger Visor
  • Spare Tire
  • Front Passenger Side Engine Mount
  • Passenger Side Headlight Mounting Bracket
  • Driver Side Side Skirt
  • Wheel Alignment (PEP BOYS LIFETIME WARRANTY)
  • Front Passenger Headlight Bracket
  • Throttle Cable Bracket
  • Rear Main Seals
  • Intake Manifold Gasket
  • NEW Spark Plugs ZFR5F
  • Battery 51R New
  • Air Intake Temperature Sensor
  • Honda Synthetic Blend 10w-30 Motor Oil (CALIFORNIA WEATHER)
  • Vehicle Speed Sensor
These are the things i have added to the vehicle. Problem is that there is power loss. Stepping on the gas pedal to the floor and its slowly increases speed. I’m not trying to make this car go fast. This will be my daily driver to save gas. But when i need to go a little faster onto freeway on ramps that’s were I’m risking to get hit.

LOCAL HONDA SPECIALIST TOLD ME THAT MY P2P ECU OBD2 NEEDS TO BE CONVERTED TO A P05 OR P06 OBD1 ECU TO GET RID OF THIS PROBLEM
I wanted to see what do you guys think?
