I have a friend with a 2005 Honda Accord Sedan V6 that decelerated suddenly on the freeway, engine died and it never restarted since. Local shop reported:

1. coolant residue - water pump is leaking (overheated)
2. engine is damaged due to driving during overheat, this overheat can shift timing belt as well
3. need the engine replaced

Fault codes are present :

• p0344 Cam Position sensor
• p1129 map sensor circuit
• 61-1 battery voltage
• 83-1 engine control module

They offered him $500 for the whole car. My experience with these forums is you guys experienced with these cars might have seen this before and provide some great advice for how to proceed. Any advice appreciated.
