Icon4 Throttle pressure/sticking Skunk2 74mm Billet TB

Hello all,

I have been having an incredibly annoying issue that is making this car nearly unable to drive. The integra has a 74mm Skunk2 Pro Series billet throttle body, when the car is off, there is no resistance to the throttle wheel, as soon as the car is started, there is this weird resistance or 'wall' on the gas pedal, almost like I have to overcome a weird vacuum force. This makes the car difficult to rev and therefore drive properly, especially with the twin disc in there. In between shifts, the rev hangs and the car will not decelerate (in gear) unless I blip the throttle once or twice or try to lift the pedal up with my toe. There is also an idle issue, it sometime surges, sometimes idles at 1500, sometimes perfectly at 1000 RPM.

All of these issues get exacerbated when the car is fully up to temp and heat soaked, making it impossible to drive safely. If anybody has any insight it would be sincerely appreciated. I just want to get this issue worked out, so I can enjoy the darn thing before summer is over.

Thanks in advance!

Take that 74mm Billet Skunk2 T/B off and throw it as far away from your car as possible. The billet ones are notoriously irritable. If you "Need" a bigger T/B, the large Alpha cast T/B's are a much better choice.

Lol!! I am currently looking into a KMiata Cast 74mm TB as a replacement.

In the meantime, do you think calibrating or getting a new TPS would help?

The Alpha is not without fault though.. I have had instances of mine sticking as well, and increasingly noticeable under heatsoak. Same issues listed by OP, almost identical. I have been considering moving away from S2 TB entirely.

as much as this sucks, hearing that someone else has the same issue, does make me feel better at least. lol

thinking of the blox 74mm tuner, or kmiata 74mm cast tb.

Mines has been working fine for almost like 5 years! I did have to adjust the plate screw. I posted the thread where I mention this fix in the OPs duplicate thread in All Motor when I did this back in 2015,
