Default Engine Timing

I've got a B16A2 engine. Is it possible to have the TDC index mark on the crankshaft gear that the timing belt goes around line up differently than the pulley that has the single line to show TDC? I want to say no since they are aligned with the woodruff key. just want to make sure.

I've seen them not align if the keyway in the crank is damaged or if the woodruff key is missing or the wrong size. Otherwise, they should be in line.

If you fail to position and maintain the cams and crank perfectly at TDC1 before installing the timing belt, you will have a very bad day.

Attention to detail is everything when installing a timing belt.

Well here's what happened. I replaced the front main crankshaft seal. When I put it back together I looked at the mark and lined it up and then placed the pulleys back on and slipped the belt over the camshaft gears. After I did that, I saw that my TDC mark on my pulley was off a bit. When I turned it back to line up, my cam gears were off one tooth. The intake cam gear lines up nicely but the exhaust did not. So I assumed that side must have rotated slightly when I put the belt on. I removed the belt, rotated the gear to line up and then put the belt back on. Everything runs great now. I was just concerned if for whatever reason the Pulley TDC and Crankshaft gear TDC would be different some how if everything was installed correctly.
