Vtech rpm drip
I have a 96 accord ex automatic when i hit 4000 it drops to 3700 then goes like vtec or at least sounds like it. Have replaced timing belt wich has been done by another. My odometer reads 113??? But i know it is not correct also they where one tooth different then my timing count on belt. my just wanted to know if it normal. I have not removed the vtec to check the screen i have a new gasket coming and will wait. Any one have similar issues?? Or may not be an issue just normal
VTEC on the B1 does not 'kicked in'. It's much more linear and does not have an rpm switch, it can be activated very low, it's dependent on engine load as well as rpm.
If your oil pressure switch is leaking it may give an erratic signal and cause VTEC solenoid to drop off momentarily, as well as a clogged screen.
Low oil can do the same.
Verify no oil leaks and full sump.
If you are not used to the Honda F series engines it can be easy to be one tooth off.
