Troubleshooting: B18C1 turbo w/ Loaded Demon2 Basemap is not firing properly
Hey guys,
my car is a 96 gsr with stock b18c1
turbo kit-precision 6262 turbo
-340 lph fuel pump
-510cc evo4 injectors
-obd1 ecu with demon2/hts (jumper harness)
-vibrant fmic
-spoolin manifold
tuner came over to load a base map and scale the injectors, but it was running like poo (not running on 4 cylinders at all)
i verified that fuel is getting to injectors and checked continuity from the injector plugs to the ecu plug and from the injector plugs to the dead plug on the shock tower.
im now thinking it has to do with the distributor.
i installed new spark plugs prior to this issue.
stock dizzy and old wires (they worked before installing turbo kit)
would there be an issue because my dizzy and wiring is obd2a but my ecu is obd1?
do I need to repin a plug or something?
please help, I’m stuck taking transit to work until I can get it running good and tuned.

Do you by chance have the old parts still? I would start by swapping it out if that is what you think is the problem.
i could try the old plugs and wires to see if that helps.
the car ran perfectly before installing all the turbo stuff. I was suspicious of the resistor box wiring but it seems I have continuity on both wires at all four injector plugs.
That is an awfully large turbo for a set of 510cc fuel injectors. Continuity of the 12v wires through the resistor box to the fuel injector clips is only one test... check the actual resistance at each output wire to see if you have a bad channel within the resistor box. Next, isolate which cylinders are not firing... by unplugging either the fuel injector or spark plug wire to test if the engine idle sound changes when you perform this. Once you discover the offending cylinder/cylinders, move the fuel injector in the dead cylinder to one that previously ran. Re-test. If the problem moves to the new cylinder, then you know that the fuel injector is the problem.
This isn't a bad idea... stock injectors and removing the resistor box should put you back to where you started. OBD-2 and OBD-1 distributors function the same, so this is not your problem.
