I have a question about the del sol and a/c. I just got a 1997 del sol s. D16y7. I'm trying to get the a/c fixed there was no belt on the compressor. I went to the part store and got the belt and it's to small does anyone know if this is a stock ac compressor and bracket?
That is not stock. It should have the TRS090 compressor. If you are going to try to use what is already on the car, take the belt back and buy the next size up (or a few sizes up, based on what you think). They should be able to look up the belt by length.
Yea the idler pully is loose. There is no way the belt they gave me will reach around the crank pully and ac. Is that a stock bracket from another car or someone made it? Any idea what belt to get?
It is a home-made bracket and likely a generic compressor. I would buy a genuine Denso TRS090 and as NVturbo suggested, a bracket from a junk yard. The Denso compressor should come full of the correct oil (PAG46). You should replace the receiver/dryer at a minimum when you replace the compressor. Flushing out the lines and replacing o-rings are also a good idea, and if you have the cash, replace the condenser while you're at it. Your compressor clutch wire has had the connector cut off and butt connected. You'll either need to re-attach the correct connector or be prepared to butt-connect the new compressor in.
This is like Cuban ingenuity. But the bracket for his compressor is still there. It doubles as the front torque mount, so it best be there! OP just needs the proper compressor and the bolts, then can use his purchased belt.
