Troubleshooting: H22A stock engine has low idle and inconsistent operation
Hey Guys,
So the other day we pulled my intake manifold to change my rear motor mount on my 92 prelude. It has the H22A swap in it. I accidently moved the adjustment nuts to remove the throttle cable (Rookie move I know) and pulled the whole intake manifold. After we got done reinstalling the manifold, we went to reconnect everything and adjust the throttle. Everything seemed fine except for the throttle being a bit more touchy than normal which I figured was from the adjustment. Anyways the next day the car started to Idle really low (around 400 RPMs) constantly and would die when ever it was sitting still. It was still pretty drivable as long as I didn't let the RPMs drop too low. Everything was fine but then while driving I suddenly lost throttle response and it started dying but was still running. I can hold the clutch down and throttle up and it works fine but the moment it starts moving it will move about 30 feet before I lose the throttle response totally. This all only happens after the car has warmed up to normal temp. Before that the car runs fine. So what could be causing this issue and the low idle? Everything worked fine before we pulled the manifold. I also put an MSD Cap and rotor on there as well since my stock one was kinda shot. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. The car is partially drivable right now.
