Default Delsol Motor question..

are the Vtec Delsol motors b16a1 or b16a2 ?? I'm askin because i might buy an AC bracket that's off a b16a1 engine and was just curious if it would bolt up to a 98 LS motor using the 92-95 civic compressor..

thanks..

Actually, I believe it was the B16A3. The B16A2 was in the Civic Si, and the B16A1 was in the JDM CRX SiR.

I could be wrong though. I have a hard time keeping things like that straight.

"your right, your got damn right" -- jerky boys

B16A3's are the early DOHC Delsol engines.

As for the AC mount, if you got one from a JDM 89-91 Cable/B16A (aka B16A1) engine...you DO NOT want to use it, because it doesn't serve as a dual purpose mount (motor mount & A/C mount) like the US Delsol A/C mount does. Basically if the 'B16A1 A/C mount you have now, does NOT look like either of the black A/C mounts pictured below, you DON'T want to use it. If it DOES look like any of the black AC mounts below....you wanna use it. It's designed to work in any 92-00 civics and 94-01 integra's...

1994-1995 del Sol VTEC was B16A3 OBDI
1996-1997 del Sol VTEC was B16A2 OBDII
1999-2000 Civic Si was B16A2 OBDII.5......major changes to the wiring harness

A/C mount.....what katman said!

if you want to use delsol a/c bracket buy the one with p54 stamped on it and that will work with your swap and retain your factory a/c unit

hey JDMHONDAPARTS.COM of course! heh...
I think factory B20/CRV engines have Aluminum AC mounts too, they're a bit bulkier than the one you see in the pic above though.

Del Sol DOHC VTEC motors are both B16A2 and B16A3.

From memory 94-95 are B16A3, 96-97 are B16A2.

just the ECU's are the main difference.
