Ok so here's the story. I have a chipped p28 in my 93 hatch, fresh lsvtec swap, details really aren't important. I tried getting it running last night and playing with the timing and whatnot for about 3 hours of constant starting, turning over, etc. Well this morning I go out to try again, and the car turns over about 3 times then nothing. I look over and see smoke coming out of the ecu, looked and the d11 diode was burnt. Okay, I thought, so I threw another p28 in it to see if it did the same, and it did. Now I have no clue why it would happen in the first place, let alone when it never did it before. Details are exactly as follows: jumper cables were on the car at the time but they were on it the night before too. Ecu ground was rerouted to the negative on the battery. Ecu had no cover on it so it's possible it may have internally grounded on something? I can't seem to find what the d11 diode is even for, so any information whatsoever regarding it will help. Thanks in advance, this one really has me scratching my head!
Also new to the forums so thread ***** forgive me if this isn't the right place
