ABS Fluid question
The ABS light has been on for a while in my girlfriend's car, and since I am on vacation next week I was going to look into fixing it. I read the long thread that was here a while back on replacing the fitting which is usually the cause for the loss of pressure and the light coming on, but when I looked yesterday, I saw that the lack of actual ABS fluid (??) may be the problem.
In the right front corner of the engine bay there is a white plastic container with fluid in it, and the fluid is below the minimum mark. I removed the cap, but the only hole through which the fluid could have been inserted was a size of a needle so I couldn't add any. I've completely replaced the brake system on my civic, but never had any experience with the ABS stuff, so I am pretty confused as to how to add the fluid to the compartment (hopefully that will fix the problem).
Could someone please explain to me how I could add more fluid, what kind of fluid should I add? Any help would be really appreciated. TIA

you've removed the cap to the ABS bleed nipple. That's the incorrect spot for filling.
What you want to do is remove the black rubber cap approx 3/4 inch in diameter that is about 2 inches north of the ABS bleed nipple. Toward the driver.
Take off the rubber cap, then pry the gross filter cap up (under the rubber cap)with two opposed fingernails. Fill with and DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid and your good to go. Also, it will leak out again...refilling it will be good for 2-3 weeks (or less) depending on how fast her ABS leaks. You might also have to bleed the ABS system. Look in a manual for this or check my old post...

Can you please post the link to the old post?? For some reason, I am having a really hard time using the search feature - nothing is coming up! Thanks for your help!
