94 Civic Hatch Floaty Steering?
Recently picked up a b20 swapped EH hatch and noticed the suspension/steering just feels kinda off. Ive owned an EH before that was b swapped that I daily drove and the steering was tight and direct. This new car, however, feels very different. The problem I'm having is that when I turn the wheel, the car just wanted to keep going in the direction I turned the wheel and not try to straighten itself like a normal car. Along with this, there's not a lot of feel in the steering for it being a non-power steering car (my old one also had no power steering). I don't think it's tie rods as the handling itself is immediate. It's hard to describe but definitely noticeable in car. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, what do you suggest that it could be and how could I fix it? I tried looking it up but had no idea what to search for, so I'm trying my best here lol. Thanks
Getting some new tires for the car to replace the old bald ones and then diagnosing it right after. Thanks for all the input everybody, I greatly appreciate it and look forward to getting the issue sorted.
Make sure your steering rack has all the bolts required to attach it to the subframe. One side of the rack is held on with a clamp and the other side is bolted directly to the subframe. I bought a Civic once that was missing the bolts that go directly through the rack into the subframe, but it had the bolts for the clamp. This would allow the rack to physically slide side-to-side during a turn. It was very sketchy.
