Noise under acceleration
Alright.
This is also in another forum under the same title so if you recognize it that's why... you guys solved my last civics issue so I came here.
I recently bought a 04 Civic DX SE (5spd base) and have an annoying ticking sound I cannot figure out.
There is a ticking noise that is very mild in neutral, increases with RPM going up, no noise off throttle or clutch in. It seems too dissipate in 1st and idle after the car is up too temp but still happens in 2nd and 3rd albeit a little less.
cant hear it nearly as bad in 4th or 5th, nothing at all in reverse. Best example would be like a loud valve tick but since it goes away with clutch in regardless of rpms I doubt that's it.
I came too the conclusion it was the input shaft bearing and had the trans swapped including the t/o bearing and fork, clutch was apparently great looking so mechanic kept the original and saved me 900 from the dealer.
Only codes I have are for 02 sensors, car seems to run a little hesitantly if I leave quickly from a cold start but again, fine when at temp.
I'm going to start looking at the injectors and the bearings in the pulleys but I'm at a loss with this one. Its confusing me and any help would be appreciated.
I'm gonna attach a YouTube clip but when I uploaded it they downed the quality a little and while you can pick it up, it's hard.
Thanks guys!
Sam.
